1. Track issues automatically and effortlessly
Are you dealing with a specific issue and need all articles containing a particular keyword to be automatically set as negative?
With the Rule module, you can do it in just a few clicks:
- Open the Rule module.
- Select the Topic you already have created in your monitoring.
- Enter the keyword or phrase (“Article Content”), or narrow the selection using filters (e.g., only social media).
- Set the action “Change item sentiment” to “Negative.”
From now on, all articles matching your conditions (e.g., in a certain time period) will be set automatically.
No manual checking needed—the system does it for you.
💡 Tip: If you want to quickly detect a potential crisis, set up Alerts. You can choose how often they should be sent, or select the “On an unusual increase” option compared to the median. This feature works great for early detection of a surge in negative mentions.
2. Highlight key articles in your newsmail
Want to make sure important articles – such as a CEO statement or a new product announcement – automatically appear in the TOP 3 of your newsmail?
Just follow these steps in the Rule module:
- Choose the topic where the keyword appears.
- Define the keywords – “Article Content”, (e.g., the CEO’s name, product name).
- Set the action “Set as Important.”
3. How to remove specific articles
Sometimes articles may appear in multiple monitored topics—yet you only want them in one.
Or you may need to remove some articles from the overview entirely. You can automate this easily using the Rule module.
You can set selected articles to:
- be removed completely from monitoring, or
- be removed only from a specific topic.
This helps you eliminate duplicates, keep your overview clean, and focus only on what matters.
Flexible rule settings for efficient monitoring
The Rule module gives you a wide range of options to tailor rules to your needs.
Everyone works with news differently and has different requirements—that’s why the module is so flexible.
For example, you can automatically add tags to news or apply rules even to articles that aren’t part of your topics but come from the Newton Media archive.
Don’t hesitate to experiment. Setting up rules takes just a few minutes, but it can save you hours of work every week.
4. Let AI summarize your monitoring
Want to get a quick overview of the latest news and immediately know what’s going on? In your newsmail template settings, open the “Show as” tab and check the “AI summary” option — our AI assistant Isaac will prepare it for you.
Your newsmail will automatically include the monitoring along with an AI – generated summary of the TOP articles, including Tone of voice overview and key insights.
You can also choose to receive a standalone AI summary, which is ideal when you don’t have time to read individual articles.
