Company History
2011
In October, Newton Media company acquired 100% share of Anopress IT, a.s. company from the Swedish group Bisnode AB .
The acquisition of Anopress IT company is significant for future development of Newton media group which would like to strengthen its position on the Central European market of media monitoring and media analysis.
2010
In April 2010 the company introduced Advertising Monitoring, an innovative service which offers selections of articles about specified topics online.
In June the company entered into a new partnership agreement with REUTERS, thus offering its clients another source of information to provide them with up-to-date, unique and trustworthy news from around the world. The services of Thomson Reuters are indispensable for large banking institutions, financial institutions, companies with foreign owners, PR agencies, and more.
In September the company launched Social Network Monitoring. It provides clients with information about how their person, company, competing brands and marketing campaigns are portrayed and discussed in the social media. NEWTON Media monitors Facebook and Twitter in Czech, Slovak and Polish.
2009
In September 2009 the company responded to online media expansion and introduced a service monitoring Czech and foreign online news under the name NEWTON News.
2008
The 42nd FIBEP Congress of Monitoring Agencies took place in Prague with representatives of monitoring companies from more than 40 countries. The organizer of the May meeting was NEWTON Media. The theme of the meeting was partnership and trust between owners of copyrighted works (publishers, broadcaster, TVR, internet servers…) and monitoring companies.
In July NEWTON Media, a.s. and Mediaresearch, a.s. established a new subsidiary, Admosphere, s.r.o. The company focuses exclusively on the provision of complete advertising monitoring in the Czech Republic (print, television, radio, internet, outdoor, instore, cinema, OOH TV).
In October NEWTON Technologies, a.s. was established, specializing in voice recognition systems. The company uses and continues to develop voice technologies based on an exclusive licensing agreement with the Technical University of Liberec.
2007
The merger of NEWTON I.T. and NEWTON Media, a.s. Both companies ceased to exist and were succeeded by NEWTON Media, a.s. As part of its rebranding NEWTON Media a.s. introduced not only new graphics but also offered clients a number of innovative services.
2006
Change in company ownership. NEWTON I.T. became an independent entity without any property affiliation with CTK.
2005
Introduction of next generation product MediaSearch, which confirmed the company’s technological maturity.
2004
Branch in Poland opened. Strengthened dominant position in Central European region with respect to media monitoring and media analysis.
2003
NEWTON I.T. became a member of FIBEP (Federation Internationale des Bureaux d`Extraits de Presse), which brings together more than 80 of the world’s most important companies involved in media monitoring.
2002
Original methodology for media analyses created.
2001
Branch opened in Slovakia.
2000
NEWTON I.T. became one of the first companies in the world to launch its own online platform for work with media monitoring.
1999
Monitoring of internet news servers launched.
1998
NEWTON I.T. became the leader of the Czech media monitoring market with the largest archive of electronically processed information.
1997
CTK invests in NEWTON I.T. and becomes its strategic business partner. The merger of the two companies’ information sources allowed clients to use the internally developed shared user interface to work with the full texts of most domestic print and electronic publications, select foreign publications, transcripts of news and journalistic programs broadcast by radio and television stations, and with news published by press agencies.
1996
Electronic archive of article full texts launched in cooperation with the editors’ offices of newspapers and magazines. Database of transcripts of news and journalistic programs broadcast by radio and television stations launched.
1995
NEWTON I.T. established as a subsidiary of NEWTON Financial Management Group. The company focused exclusively on collecting, processing, storing, searching and distributing information from the media in electronic and print form.
1994
NEWTON Financial Management Group established. The aim was to offer new services for the effective management of company portfolios. It was necessary to build the information environment for this activity. A specialized department was created to collect, sort and analyze relevant information collected from all available sources. With time the electronic archive of information sources and number of experts started to grow.
